Background information
"The life of a war photographer - a life close to the edge. American photographer Stanley GREENE once began his career as a fashion photographer. Today he is world famous for his war reportages.
Content
In the photo volume 'Black Passport' Stanley GREENE, with the support of graphic designer Teun VAN DER HEIJDEN, attempts to come to terms with the impact his volatile work in the world's crisis zones has had on his life. By combining impressive, sometimes painfully cruel photographs with Stanley GREENE's authentic statements, an impressive portrait of the photographer is created. The photo-text volume 'Black Passport' tries to give the viewer an idea of how Stanley GREENE managed to avoid falling into the abyss, indeed, how he was able to retain his optimism despite the everyday horror of war."
