"Created by the Musée de l'Élysée and Parmigiani Fleurier, the Prix Élysée aims to encourage creativity and the realization of new photographic works. It is open to promising photographers or artists who use photographic genres and techniques and whose work has already been the subject of exhibitions and publications. They are recommended by a recognized professional in the fields of photography, contemporary art, film, fashion, journalism or publishing.

This publication, 'Prix Elysée. Édition 2016-2018', consisting of eight thread-bound individual issues, features the previously unpublished projects of eight nominees: 'The True Truth's Stories' by Isabelle BLANC and Olivier HILAIRE, a collection of photographic short stories; the making of images based on 'scores,' the preparations for actions of the Fluxus movement in the 1960s and 1970s, by Elina BROTHERUS; a long-term photographic project by Matthias BRUGGMANN on the conflict in Syria; 'Limbo' by David JIMÉNEZ, which plays with the limits of perception; 'Tales' by Sofie KNIJFF, which explores the influence of fairy tales and their meaning in different contemporary cultures; 'As We Recede' by Emeka OKEREKE, who explores the history and hypotheses of the Biafra war in Nigeria in a multimedia project of photography, video and sound; and last but not least, 'Nature Stories' by Zhao RENHUI, a photographic exploration of the different ideas we have about nature.
