Background information
The in a very limited edition self-published photo volume 'Provisional Life' by Icelandic photographer Rannveig EINARSDOTTIR is the result of a project about refugees living in German refugee homes. The quality of her photography lies in her ability to photograph people in these circumstances as normally as possible and with dignity. The refugees trust her and it is obvious that her sociological background helps to take the photos. While the photos speak for themselves, the viewer inevitably comes to imagine that the current migration can happen to ourselves at any time. With the publication 'Provisional Life' Rannveig transforms the migration of the unknown mass into an individual destiny and makes it comprehensible.
Content
The photo book 'Provisional Life' by Rannveig EINARSDOTTIR is a large format leporello with a (rather hidden) German/English text page. An introduction showing the things that surround people in refugee homes is followed by portraits and family portraits in color.
