For out-of-print book 'Ghana. An African Portrait', Paul STRAND collected and found motifs - landscapes, architecture, portraits, street scenes - that were suitable for documenting the transition to modernization of Ghana, who had declared as independent.

'Neue Welt,' comprehensively documents the journeys that the London-based German photographer Wolfgang TILLMANS made three years earlier around the globe. The result are new perspectives on the realities of our planet, on social situations and the nature.

The book title '1994' commemorates an important year in the history of South Africa and Rwanda - here Mandela's election as president, there genocide. In retrospect, Pieter HUGO processed the events of the year with portraits of children and young people.
