Background information, content
The huge portrait photo volume 'Menschenbilder' by Michael HOROWITZ, which has been out of print for a long time, is a voluminous photo book with pictures that tell stories. From 1966 to 1986, the Austrian photographer, writer and publisher succeeded in coaxing a wide variety of people out of their shells as well as letting them spill their greatest secrets. The result was a series of pictures featuring personalities ranging from Thomas Bernhard and Elias Canetti, Helmut Qualtinger and Oskar Werner to Karl Böhm and Herbert von Karajan, Klaus Maria Brandauer and Paula Wessely, and John Lennon, Sir Peter Ustinov and Andy WARHOL.

The folio volume (format: 36 x 27 x 3 cm.), now out of print, was published in 2004 in an edition of 3,000 numbered copies. The 272 pages contain a total of 150 plates, some of which are double-page in size. The edition also contains a mounted original photograph in the format 29 x 20.5 cm. ('Helmut Qualtinger with aviator glasses'). The cloth-bound volume is in a cloth slipcase. With autograph and signature of Michael HOROWITZ.
