About German photographer, Andreas HERZAU (1962-2024)
Andreas HERZAU was a photographer and lecturer in photography. From 1979 to 1982 he trained as a typesetter. After his traineeship at the magazine 'konkret', he became an editor there in 1987. From 1988 to 1990, he was an editor at the Hamburger Rundschau and from 1990 he worked as a freelance author. From 1992, he devoted himself exclusively to photography. He was co-founder of the photo agency Signum (1991), co-founder of the professional association 'Freelens' (1991), member of the photo agency 'laif' since 1999 and founding and board member of the laif cooperative founded in 2023.
