Content
The photo book 'Trinity' iby Carl de KEYZER is a photographic tryptichon: his 'Tableaux d'Histoire' consist of color photographs taken between 1990 and 2000; they revolve around different manifestations of the representation of power: the 'Tableaux de Guerre' are witnesses to various wars; these photographs were taken between 2003 and 2006 and show traces of devastation, disruption and displacement. The 'Tableaux Politiques' are the photographer's latest project. They offer surprising glimpses behind the facades of politics, taking the viewer to Capitol Hill, the European Parliament in Brussels, and China's power center in Beijing. 'Trinity' thus exposes the destruction, the spectacle, it exposes the stageiness of the settings and the superficial decoration: power in its cruelty and splendor and the abyss behind all the decoration become visible."
