Reproduced on super glossy paper, the color photographs in the out-of-print volume 'Karma' by Spanish photographer Óscar MONZÓN show details of cars of nocturnal drivers in Madrid. The photo volume won the Paris Photobook Award in 2013.

In 'Neon Tigers', the metropolises, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Jakarta, Singapore & Shenzhen, merge into a virtual megacity. Peter BIALOBRZESKI's photos do not seem to reflect a real world, but rather dream worlds from films or PC games.

The images by Uwe STEINBERG in 'Berlin. Fotografien 1963-1983' range from observations in the Central Market Hall at Alexanderplatz from the early 1960s to insights into the industrial working world of the 70s to a long-term study of Schönhauser Allee.

'Byker' by Sirkka KONTTINEN is considered a pivotal narrative about working-class culture on the eve of its destruction. It covers a close-knit community in Newcastle, where she lived for seven years, as well as an area slated for extensive redevelopment.

Out-of-print 'Pegel Köln' by Wilhelm SCHÜRMANN deals with urban life (e.g. in Cologne) and the understanding of the city photo book. The title is also programmatic and stands for a level at which the well-worn genre of the city photo book can still work.

'Landscape as Longing' comes from a commission for Frank GOHLKE and Joel STERNFELD to document an ethnic diversity in the borough of Queens, New York. With an essay, it is a powerful tool for understanding a landscape that seems to defy interpretation.

For 'Anonymous Mitte. Berlin' Arwed MESSMER has visited this magical place again and again since 1995 and captured the changes photographically. An essay by Annett Gröschner as well as a text by Florian Ebner on Berlin urban photography complete the book.
