Background information
"In his Polaroids from 1972 to the early 1990s, Peter ALEXANDER recorded his visual experiences of the Californian zeitgeist. In 2020 he put the previously unpublished pictures together as pairs. Peter ALEXANDER is considered a pioneer of Light and Space, one for the west coast of the USA formative and innovative art. He became known for objects made of cast synthetic resin. Their luminous transparency evokes the clarity as well as the artificiality of California's light and colors. The accompanying text reveals amazing connections between the two art forms.
