Polaroid

Peter ALEXANDER recorded his visual experiences of the Californian zeitgeist in his Polaroids from 1972 to the early 1990s. In 2020 he put the previously unpublished pictures together as pairs. The accompanying text reveals amazing connections to his art.

The out-of-print photo volume 'Carlo Mollino: Polaroids' contains a selection of Polaroids from the 1960s and 1970s. These are eroticized images of women, but the subject is not sex. The images were composed and staged to conquer nature with artificiality

In his 'Polaroids from the Middle Kingdom', Lukas BIRK shows photographs taken between 2008 and 2010 in the People's Republic of China using expired film stock from the 1980s. The instant images capture the present through a filter of nostalgia & longing.

In this photo book, the pictures are not thematic, but arranged according to stories - interwoven with their own stories. 'Sofort Bilder' is a photographic road movie through the early years of the artist, who quickly became world famous for his films.

In the out-of-print photographic volume 'Spleen and Ideal', French photo artist Tiane Doan na CHAMPASSAK traces the boundaries between male and female and the pulse of sexual encounters. The events experienced in Thailand were staged in Polaroid format.
