For the 'New York' book of photographs, Masao GOZU photographed people in New York's immigrant neighborhoods as they looked out their windows during a passing parade. The two other series included in the book 'New York', also document urban life in New York around 1970: in '264 Bowery Street' Masao GOZU repeatedly photographed a doorstep used by people it as a rest area, while the 'Harry's Bar' shows the glass windows of a bar and the patrons sitting behind them."
