This self published photo volume, 'Songbirds' by Katrín ELVARSDÓTTIR, consists of grainy, imperfect color photographs which show (mainly) canaries in Cuban cages. Besides in room cages, two-thirds-pictures - as negatives - show urban views of Havana.

'Köln am Dom' by Volker DÖHNE consists of b/w photographs showing Cologne's city center, with the Cathedral or at least the spires always being visible. In intelligent essays, the authors comment on the changes in the architectural appearance of this city

'The World's First Photobook Was Blue', by ALBÁRRAN CABRERA shows their work as well as explains their artistic process. The title is a reference to Anna ATKINS, the spiral binding to BRASSAI and the book itself is a tribute to photography's complexity.

The black-and-white photographs in the photo volume 'Shimagatari' by Yasuhiro OGAWA relate to Japanese photography of the 1970s through their truthfulness and coarseness. Despite the darkness in the shots, the images also have something light-hearted.
