This portraits are the result of a project started in 1988 and a tribute to those Kaunas Jews who once escaped death in concentration camps. It is SUTKUS' expression of attempts at understanding, penitence, purification and rebirth. Thank you, Mr SUTKUS.

In his third publication, 'Fängelse', prominent Swedish photographer Anders PETERSEN documents the daily prison life of male inmates of a institution in his homeland from the early 1980s. The text in the book is so far only available in Swedish.

'People of Lithuania' is one of the international classics in the history of photo books. Antanas SUTKUS 'way of photographing people did not correspond to the style of the prevailing / desired propaganda photography in the Soviet republic at the time.

Titled 'Anthology,' the photo volume by Italian photographer depicts both brutal murders and the beauty of her native Sicily. The photographer spent her life photographing victims of mafia murders. The book claims to show the real mafia, not the movies.

Beside the chapters 'Early Works', Guerre Sans Images'; 'Sudan', 'Nu Au Paradis'; 'Cocaine Love'; Our Town'; Inside Cairo'; London Calling' as well as 'Eye on Africa', the book also contains a transcript of an interview with Michael von GRAFFENRIED.

Out-of-print Photo volume 'Dovere di Cronaca. The Duty to Report' by Letizia BATTAGLIA shows what happened in Sicily in the late 1970s to the early 1980s: a war that the Italian photographer, together with Franco Zecchin, captured without heroic ambitions

Because of his humanistic photography, SUTKUS is considered the Eastern European counterpart to CARTIER-BRESSON. Books' title has been chosen suitably because it reflects exactly what constitutes the breeding ground for the work of the Lithuanian legend.
