Background information
"Family and memory are the leitmotif in the book series by Nina KORHONEN, designed as a trilogy. 'Rewind. The Photographs' is the continuation and at the same time the conclusion of their discussion with questions about identity and self-discovery and links to their two books published in the Swedish publishing journal,'Minne. Muisto, Memory' (1997), and 'Anna. American mummu' (2004). It was in 'Minne. Muisto, Memory' the scenes of her own childhood, which Nina KORHONEN again visited and occupied with young models, drew her in 'Anna. American mummu' the life-image of her grandmother who had emigrated early to the United States, who went with her granddaughter and photographer into an intense photographic dialogue.
Content
In 'Rewind. The Photographs' merge self-portraits and family scenes again into an emotionally charged image, which draws its power from subtle and emotional moments that allow associations to love, death, joy and suffering." (© Fotohof, 2009)
