Brutalist architecture & concrete fascinate Sue BARR (professor of photography, London). With her large format camera, the British woman traversed all of Italy from the Alps to Naples and photographed the previously largely ignored motorway architecture.

In the photo volume 'Berlin Pictures' by American photographer Mark STEINMETZ the hard and soft sides of Berlin are portrayed in poetic and floating images. This book contains black and white photographs from the streets of Berlin, made from 2012 to 2019.

'Catálogo' by Miguel CAKLDERÓN gathers images of prostitutes that were shown to him when he was thirteen, so that he could choose one of them for his 'initiation into manhood'. Thirty years later, he uses them to analyze and narrate his sexual awakening.

Photo volume 'Leviathan' by Morgan ASHCOM deals about a community founded in 1995 by nonconformists in southeast Ohio and tells of the utopia of an independent life in freedom parallel to the materialistic outside world and the confrontation with nature.

'Great Heart, Strong Hands' by Anne Helene GJELSTAD is about the life of women on Estonian islands of Kihnu and Manija, which are often seen as the last matriarchal society in Europe. She has found a way, which draws the viewer into their world and souls.

'One Sunday in Beijing' by Michael KENNA is the result of an artist-in-residence stay. The book was published in a small edition with two different colored covers (red and yellow), with print and also carries an inserted conundrum image on the book cover.

The out-of-print photo publication 'Stilled' by British photo artist Edward DIMSDALE shares something with the Haiku, which often presents three elements: something permanent, something ephemeral, and what happens in the moment when they come together.

This photo volume by Carolyn DRAKE is a statement for the freedom of the Autonomous Region of Xinjiang. He combines photographs with drawings by the Uighurs. The book also contains excerpts from the allegorical story 'Wild Pigeon' by Nurmuhemmet YASIN.

In his out-of-print photo volume 'Archaeology in Reverse', Stephen GILL focused on evidence of the rapid change that East London was undergoing in preparation for the 2012 Olympics. With a cheap camera he made very poetic documentary photographs.
