Background information
The photo book 'Crime Scenes' by Helmut GIERSIEFEN is about the typology of hunting high seats, for the photographer they are 'crime scenes', hence the book title. Due to their architectural variety, they fit in with nature as wooden sculpture. The 48 subjects were photographed on Washi Film, a new handmade black and white film made from traditional Japanese paper (Washi). For the book, the black and white photographs were reproduced as square (9×9 cm) papers and individually pasted into the book. Each book is hand-numbered and signed.
