Background information
'Between Maple and Chestnut' by Terri WEIFENBACH is an artist's book about the 'American somewhere', consisting of photographs taken between 2005 and 2007. Here, the trees are ripe, the grass is green, and the sun is out - and street names are repeated from suburb to suburb across the country. This is an idyllic home, the beginning of life for many Americans.
Content
As with her earlier projects, Terri WEIFENBACH uses color, highly selective focus, shallow depth of field, and other means to arrive at a space between painting and photography in the photographs in the photo book 'Between Maple and Chestnut.'" (freely translated, © Nazraeli Press, 2012)
