From a Female Perspective

In photo volume 'Socorro!' Lucy RAVEN documents the shockwaves at an explosives range in New Mexico as silver gelatin shadowgrams on large format photosensitive paper and negative film. The results are subtly inflected abstractions in this artist’s book.

'Metrópolis' by Adriana LESTIDO gathers b/w shots of Buenos Aires from 1988 to 1999, documenting the city's sprawl (Constitución, La Boca, Villa Lugano, Pompella) and a now unrecognizable Puerto Madero. Evocatively somber images of a bygone Buenos Aires.
