Background information
This is the new, expanded second edition of Freya COPELAND's photography book 'Footfalls Echo'. In it, the New Zealand photographer explores loneliness and separation suffered in modern cities - without explicitly naming those cities. All photos were taken in and around New York in 2015 on two Olympus AX1s and a Nexus 5 smartphone, except for six medium-format color stills taken in Berlin from a Mamiya 67rb.
Contents
'Footfalls Echo' by Freya COPELAND presents itself in the form of a personal diary, tracing movements and thoughts in a city that promises to be your friend, but at the same time rejects you at every turn. The self-published book consists of sixty-three pages with thirty-one color photographs as well as twenty-seven black and white images. A German-language essay by Anna Hanlon is included in a specially inserted thread-bound booklet.
