"Candida HÖFER explores built spaces with her photographs. Her world-famous interiors focus on libraries, museums, restaurants, theaters and other publicly accessible places, allowing architecture to be experienced in a new way. In comparison with photographic interiors from the over 150-year-old photography collection of the Art Library of the Museum für Fotografie in Berlin, a dialog between applied photography and artistic work unfolds. The approximately 200 works - including photographs from zoological gardens and previously little-known series from Candida HÖFER's early work as well as their rarely or never before shown counterparts from the photography collection - invite us to take a new look at her work and the photography collection, but also at the medium of photography itself."
