"For over 25 years, Schleswig-Holstein has been the center of the international heavy metal scene in August. Every year, nearly 100,000 people make a pilgrimage to the small village of Wacken to experience the unique festival of the same name. For three days, legendary music giants and newcomers meet their fan base here. Numerous films and TV documentaries have already tried to make the fascination of 'Wacken' tangible. Photographer Jens NOLTE delivers with the photo book 'Aufwacken' the first photo book with a selection of unique snapshots and portraits of the festival visitors.
