Background information
Dwindling glaciers and polar ice caps, rising sea levels and steppe land areas: the consequences of the climate crisis have long been visible. The catalog publication 'Nach uns die Sintflut' (German for 'After Us the Flood') uses the means of art to demonstrate the urgency of the topic. Through the media of photography and video, twenty international positions illustrate the ecological effects of our growth-oriented economic system.
Content
The photographs in the catalog publication 'Nach uns die Sintflut' give visual form to the abstract processes and complex contexts of the climate crisis and touch on an emotional level. The works from the past ten years are often the result of intensive research and collaboration with Wissenschaftler:innen. The texts by Lukas Egger, Nils Güttler, Gaby Hartel, Sophie Haslinger, Verena Kaspar-Eisert and Bettina Leidl deal in depth with the global climate crisis and the role of art as well as the history of ecological thinking and Karl Marx' concept of nature.
