"The wrecked Cruise Ship is visible and attracts me like a magnet, so I finally venture to swim across…" (© Jonathan Danko KIELKOWSKI)
"On the evening of January 13, 2012, one of the largest cruise ships in the Mediterranean crashed off the Tuscan island of Giglio. The images of the tilted ship went around the world and it is a curiosity that the disaster of the Costa Concordia happened almost exactly 100 years after the sinking of the Titanic.
Perhaps inspired by this, the photographer Jonathan KIELKOWSKI examined the interior of the ship with his photographs. The documentary shots are spooky and reflect the expected: the idea of how alive it must have been shortly before the disaster on the ship." (© Richard G. SPORLEDER)
