Background information
"With the photo volume 'Karambolage' by Arnold ODERMATT, his photographic diary of the numerous traffic accidents that accompanied his daily work in the Swiss canton of Nidwalden for almost half a century, the policeman and photographer Arnold ODERMATT taught them better with his camera. He sent his colleagues to the hairdresser and then arranged and staged the adventures of their everyday professional life, the vehicles with blue lights and the power of the official weapons. The result was advertising in the best sense, proudly showing who you are and what you have.
Content
The photo volume 'On Duty / Im Dienst' by Arnold ODERMATT is an impressive document of a vanished time, which nevertheless seems familiar. It contains images in distant colors that greet us from the past like the smells of our childhood." (© Steidl Verlag, 2006)
