The self-published photo publication 'Land of the Setting Sun' - born out of the intense experience of the tsunami in her home country - was published in an edition of only 100 copies. Born in Tohoku, the photographer now lives in the Netherlands.

In 'Butterflies and Caterpillars' Ardelle SCHNEIDER documents the current drag scene in the USA. In doing so, she allows the subtleties of the characters to become visible. With a careful lighting direction, she creates shots full of intimacy and dignity.
