"Composed of unique, large-scale C-print composites, the photo book 'Lassen' is a topographic and polychromatic exploration of natural landscape which it celebrates, while simultaneously revealing my uneasiness and anxiety about the current state of the environment.
It is an experimental investigation of the chromogenic process. The enlargements, hand-printed in sections, result from countless hours spent in the colour darkroom.
I compress the multiple layers of physical and chemical manipulations into one final image. 'Lassen' is a journey through both factual and fictional place; a metaphorical portrait of nature of the Anthropocene era.
The book 'Lassen' takes the form of an oversized volume of 192 pages, printed in full colour.
Each image forms one signature inside the book. As a result, each spread can feature only a fragment of the image." (publisher's note, © Meta/Books, 2019)
