'Aversive Adhesives' is an unusual photo (book) project from Germany; it gathers photographers like (in order of appearance) Roger BALLEN, Olaf BREUNING, Jesús MONTERDE, Thomas MAILAENDER, Yumiko UtTSU Jaimie WARREN, Beni BISHOP, Parker DAY, Thomas ROUSSET, Pieter Hugo, Jaap SCHEEREN, Andy KANIA, Olya OLEINIC, Chris MAGGIO together in one sticker album (from 9 to 30 stickers a page).
Unlike the Panini album, the album is already complete; however, the photoresists contained therein may be dissolved out and used, e.g. to beautify guerilla street lights with some of the famous photos - for example from Pieter Hugo's 'Nollywood' series. For the avid collector, 'Aversive Adhesives' may be both: blessing and horror at the same time.
"No matter where we look, we are surrounded by beautiful pictures, but why should we, with all the abundance of beauty, bother to remember them?
'Aversive Adhesives' looks the other way and explores the nasty, disturbing, disturbing, or in some ways 'aversive' images that repel at first sight.
Due to their disturbing nature, these images remain in the memory even after looking away and form their own aesthetic genre. 'Aversive Adhesives' illuminates photographers who approach reality in new and unusual ways, who are not afraid to get their hands dirty. A limited edition sticker project in every respect!"
