In the photo book 'Slow Boat', Japanese photographer Koji ONAKA compares sailing a boat with his way of life and photography. After this book, he started to do color photography. 'Slow Boat' consists of photographs taken between 1984-1999. Koji ONAKA is known for using cheap film stock that gives his work a more personal, everyday observation rather than being overly artistic.
The photo book 'Slow Boat' by Koji ONAKA contains 84 black and white photographs documenting his life.
The current edition of Japanese photographer Koji ONAKA's fifth monograph, 'Slow Boat' is the third edition after the first edition in 2003 and the facsimile reprint in 2008, which was published in an edition of only 500 copies.
