Background information
"When cars were dream cars. The 1950s and 60s were the most exciting time for car lovers. 'Small car icons like the Fiat 500, the 'Duck' or the Renault 4 ('R4') mobilized the masses, while at the same time literally weird bodies like the Citroën Ami 6 were born or the amphibious vehicle Amphicar 770 was sent out on the (water) road.' (Tobias Christ)
There was everything from the super sports car to the insane subcompact. Shapes were tried out, companies were founded and disappeared, chrome and candy colors were loved. Some designs even celebrated space travel - just like that in traffic. It's no wonder that some of the designs from those days are being reproduced today, like the Beetle or the Fiat 500, and no wonder that there is a huge fan community of the stars from those years.
