Background information
"The photographs in the photo book 'Meadow' by Hartford School alumnus Nicholas POLLACK were taken between 2015 and 2020 in and around Secaucus, New Jersey, USA. Inspired by the landscape of the New Jersey Meadowlands, he focuses entirely on a small stretch of land and the friendly interaction within a group of truckers who have developed a special relationship with this area. The volume is an ode to a corner of the vast New Jersey Meadowlands - to its people, its nature and, above all, to a piece of humanity in a post-industrial landscape.

The photo book 'Meadow' by Nicholas POLLACK is closely interwoven with a place that has fallen out of society's field of vision. It tells the story of truckers who have made a piece of salt marsh their own. In the tradition of documentary photography, the Hartford School graduate visualizes the physical as well as the social landscapes of America." (© Hirmer Verlag, 2022)Reception
'The photo volume 'Meadow' by Nicholas POLLACK is not just a photographic journey - it's an eloquent narrative that enhances ourunderstanding and appreciation of the world around us." (© PhotoBook Journal)"These photos capture not just a place, but the mood of that place-and in so doing they remind us to constantly broaden our sense of what constitutes 'nature.'" (Bill McKibben)
