German-language anniversary edition of the classic photo book. Walker EVANS put together 'American Photographs' himself. It became a sober, yet highly aesthetic description of the United States in the 1930s that influenced generations of photographers.

First published in 1974, Robert ADAMS' photobook 'The New West' is now considered a photobook classic, along with 'American Photographs' by Walker EVANS and 'The Americans' by Robert FRANK as seminal photobooks exploring American culture and society.

The original edition of '60 Fotos', designed by Jan TSCHICHOLD. Vol #1 of the 'Fototek' series, the first and only photo book by Aenne BIERMANN, contains Franz ROH's important essay 'The literary controversy about photography' in English, French & German.

In 'Slow Boat' Koji ONAKA compares sailing on a boat with his way of life & photography. The b/w photos were taken between 1984 and 1999. His fifth monograph in total was published in three editions, with the 2nd edition published as a faithful facsimile.

Re-edit. 'Shikishima' by Tamiko NISHIMURA is rather one of the lesser-known book classics from the 1970s; it is the result of a journey through her homeland. The photographer was once an assistant to Daido MORIYAMA, who also influenced her stylistically.
