'The Chinese Photobook. From the 1900s to the Present' covers titles from China, titles published in Europe about China as well as the propaganda production after the Chinese Revolution and self-published artist volumes from the turn of the millennium.

'About Us. Young Photography in China' presents a selection of around 150 works by 40 Chinese artists. In b/w aesthetics or as dramatic stagings in color, created from the 90s to the present day, the focus is primarily on people in all thematic variations

The book 'Silk Road. 1956-1974' deals with the journeys of Emilia 'Milli' BAU with a wealth of images and text material from three decades. She traveled the Middle and Far East; the pictures and the diary-like texts describe what she saw and experienced.

In his atmospheric photo volume 'Nail Houses', Peter BIALOBRZESKI records buildings in China that are about to be demolished. For outsiders, the color photographs taken in the evening convey a feeling of homeliness, despite the cracks in the walls.

In 'Neon Tigers', the metropolises, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Jakarta, Singapore & Shenzhen, merge into a virtual megacity. Peter BIALOBRZESKI's photos do not seem to reflect a real world, but rather dream worlds from films or PC games.

In his 'Wuhan Diary', Peter BIALOBRZESKI turns his gaze on the Chinese city of Wuhan. His pictures - taken between February 22 and March 12, 2017 - show a pulsating city with over 19 million inhabitants, which has to cope with its own rapid development.

The photo volume 'Chongqing Souvenir' Lukas BIRK is about how to bring impersonal images of violence to discussion. The people depicted in the book are dissidents who have been mounted in a book designed in the manner of private memory albums of the time.

In his 'Polaroids from the Middle Kingdom', Lukas BIRK shows photographs taken between 2008 and 2010 in the People's Republic of China using expired film stock from the 1980s. The instant images capture the present through a filter of nostalgia & longing.

Volume No.6 of the book series 'Grosse Photographern unserer Zeit' (Great Photographers of Our Time) presents the work of Swiss Magnum photographer Werner BISCHOF (1916-1954) in over 80 b/w images - works in the area of tension between art and reportage.

'Mouvement' about René BURRI gives an overview about his work which has written history. Removed from sensationalism yet no less striking are his images of the theater of war, of people suffering in poverty & with equal intensity to the spheres of beauty.
