Über die indische Fotokünstlerin Dayanita SINGH (geb. 1961, in Neu-Delhi)
Dayanita SINGH studierte am National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad und am International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York. Ihre Arbeiten wurden unter anderem im Museum of Modern Art, New York, in der Tate Modern, London, im Art Institute of Chicago, in der Hayward Gallery, London, im Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, Neu-Delhi, und im Tokyo Photographic Art Museum ausgestellt. Im Jahr 2013 vertrat sie Deutschland auf der Biennale von Venedig. Das Büchermachen ist ein zentraler Bestandteil von Singhs Praxis. Ihr Buch "Museum Bhavan" wurde bei den Paris Photo-Aperture Foundation Photobook Awards 2017 als Buch des Jahres ausgezeichnet und gewann 2018 den ICP Infinity Award for Artist's Book. 2022 erhilet sie den Hasselblad Award.
