About German photographer and photography teacher Andreas Weidner (b.1956, in Berlin)

"Originally dedicated to serious music and jazz, Andreas Weidner later switched from acoustic to visual sound art. For decades, he worked exclusively with black and white photography; for the past ten years, his main interest has been in experimental color photography" (A. Weidner)
"Andreas WEIDNER is a photographer and photography teacher. His classic landscape photographs are the result of consistent application of the zone system with the large format camera. He is a representative of fine art photography in the tradition of the f/64 group around Ansel ADAMS, Edward WESTON and Imogen CUNINGHAM. He is a member of the Bund Freischaffender Foto-Designer (BFF) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie (DGPh). He is also the founder of the Forum für Visuelle TonArt.
Andreas WEIDNER also teaches the hybrid process, i.e. the scanning of analog photographs and their digital processing. He tries to convey the technical advantages compared to the classic work in the darkroom (photography). Here too, however, the starting point remains the pre-visualized image, the creation of which already takes into account all subsequent manual and technical steps in order to be able to produce a 'fine art print' as a result."
