UNSEEN 2021

'Icaro' by Irene ZOTTOLA was created from leaves of a found encyclopedia, selected fragments of a novel and photographic prints made in the darkroom with liquid emulsion. The project aims to establish a parallel between bird flight and human life journey.

The photo book 'Emotions in between Emotions' by Steve Dean MENDES invites on a journey through the art of portraiture. Inspired by the great Flemish Old Masters and the Pre-Raphaelites, he shows people with all their natural fragility and beauty of soul.

'Kinderszenen' by Lionel JUSSERET tries to give an insight into the intimacy of autistic children, their way of understanding space and the world. In its conception it's based on the piano work of Robert Schumann, conceived as a 'souvenir for adults'.

In the documentary photo book 'The Imaginary Republic', Polish photographer Pawel JASZCZUK, with the assistance of manga critic Kaoru NAGAYAMA, who wrote the essay, explores the Japanese penchant for erotic comics in which girls are the main characters.
