About Slovenian photographer, Matjaz TANCIC (b.1982)

Matjaž TANCIC is a Slovenian lens-based artist of the younger generation, who lives and creates between Beijing and Ljubljana. He began his path as a photojournalist for Mladina magazine. He's working mainly on documentary and independent projects between China and Slovenia. His work explores the lines between documentary, portrait and art photography to engage with social and cultural issues. He likes to experiment within the photographic medium and is well  known for his 3D stereography projects. Matjaz TANCIC holds a BA in photography from the University of the Arts, London.

As there is a wall clock in almost every household, Matjaz TANCIC titled his out-of-print volume, which oscillates between the future and the past, 'Timekeepers'. Conceived as an old photo album, the 3D images inside show Chinese and their home interiors.
