"Taksim Square in Istanbul, is in the focus of this in the wake of the civil protests spontaneously published work.
Matching the actuality of events, 'Taksim Calling' was published similiar to daily newspapers - in large format of loose oversized pages.
The loosely folded leaves can also be used as a poster and show either the Taksim Square in more peaceful times, the other, journalistic (back) side
shows actual pictures of the place, often portraits of (young) people in the throes of protest. These photos were taken in the instant mode and in gridded format in equally Polaroid original size.
This publication is congenial in content and form and yet very restrained - in the foreground is the people of Istanbul's Taksim Square.
On the streets of Istanbul, the photographer is giving his publication away - for Café Lehmitz Photobooks, Frederic LEZMI has SIGNED some of 200 specific for sale given copies." (© Richard G. SPORLEDER)
