Background information
The skin does not lie: it is the map of a person. It is the paper in which decisions, failures, passions and fears are recorded. The body defines itself, it layers and heals over time under veils, blankets and in hiding places. Like the trunk of a tree. Like the paper of this book: it changes, it is wrinkled or becomes thin and transparent and defines - in the words of Ingrid De Koks - 'the map of a weathered body'.

The artist's photo book 'Body Maps' by Margaret LANSINK is handmade in a small edition and is elaborately designed: On different papers more or less veiled bodies are shown as well as studies of nature. Since 150 copies were sold out quickly, Margaret LANSINK decided to extend the first edition by another 75 copies with the same layout. Additional information
