Robert FRANK was born a child of a Swiss and a German-Jewish father. In 1947 he emigrated to the USA and soon published his first photo book. When 'The Americans' appeared in 1959, Jack Kerouac wrote the preface to the 'perhaps most influential photography book of the 20th century' (The Guardian).
Robert FRANK expanded his image horizon and made films like 'Pull My Daisy' with the Beat Poets Allen Ginsberg and Gregory Corso.
He collaborated with the Rolling Stones on the touring movie 'Cocksucker Blues' and the cover artwork of the album 'Exile On Main St.'.
Walker EVANS and Patti SMITH, William S. Burroughs and Edward Lachman - numerous artists who shaped the second half of the 20th century sought cooperation with the style-forming artist.
