Background information
In the photo book 'Slow Boat', Japanese photographer Koji ONAKA compares sailing a boat with his way of life and photography. After this book, he started to do color photography. 'Slow Boat' consists of photographs taken between 1984-1999. Koji ONAKA is known for using cheap film stock that gives his work a more personal, everyday observation rather than being overly artistic.
