The book 'Silk Road. 1956-1974' deals with the journeys of Emilia 'Milli' BAU with a wealth of images and text material from three decades. She traveled the Middle and Far East; the pictures and the diary-like texts describe what she saw and experienced.

The images in the book 'THEM' by Rosalind Fox SOLOMON are marked by a keen sense of life in the West Bank. They are interspersed with diary fragments revealing the humanity of each person photographed, a window into lives marked by violence & insecurity.

'An Archeology of Fear and Desire' by Frédéric BRENNER is an attempt to recontextualize Israel, exploring longing, belonging & exclusion. It is part of a project, were participating Joseph KOUDELKA, Gilles PERESS, Stephen SHORE, Nick WAPLINGTON a.o.

This out-of-print monograph on the work of the Iraqi photographer Latif al ANI gives a very good impression of international life in the 1960s and 1970s in a metropolis in the Middle East. 112 b/w photographs in almost page-filling square format.

Reconstruction followed the civil war raging in Lebanon between 1975 and 1990. McPHERSON's color images in this publication should demonstrate that the goal of making Beirut's inner city the most beautiful city center in the Middle East has been achieved.
