Background information
The out-of-print, highly sought after photo volume 'Stills' by Belgian photo artist Katrien de BLAUWER is the result of a cooperation with the musician Danny Clay and the record is included in the set as limited special edition! No longer available anywhere else.
"Katrien de BLAUWER calls herself a 'photographer without a camera.' The Belgian artist collects and recycles pictures and photos from old
magazines and newspapers to create stunning collages of distant mood and
place. These fragmentary images evoke faded memories that are quickly
brought to the fore. In turn, the viewer becomes a character in her stories. Katrien de BLAUWER shows extensively throughout Europe. Her work has been
featured in numerous publications and appears often in the New York
Times. Danny Clay is a composer and sound artist from Ohio, currently based in San Francisco.

Book Review
"The deceptive simplicity of the Dutch (Belgian) collage artist Katrien DE BLAUWER can hold its own regardless of the package, but likki Book’s attentive presentation of her work in Stills is extraordinary." (© Jeffrey LADD)
"Katrien de BLAUWER was born in the small provincial town of Ronse (Belgium). After a troubled childhood, She moved to Ghent at a young age to study painting. Later she attended the Royal Academy in Antwerp to study fashion. A study she abandoned. It was at that time she made her first collage books, actually studies and moodbooks for fashion collections. At a later age she began collecting, cutting and recycling images as therapeutic self investigation. Art is a guaranty of sanity." (© Louise BOURGEOIS)
