Zen Foto Book #13. Two portraits of Tokyo in 1995 & 2010. After merely 15 years, the streets, the people, the textures have all completly changed. TAKEFUJI made two intense portraits, in which the city has metamorphosed from pleasure-dome to sunless sea.

The out-of-print photo volume 'Tsugaru' by Ichiro KOJIMA is a facsimile of the 1963 original and contains b/w photographs taken in and around the Tsugaru region: Shots of snow-covered landscapes and rural people practicing traditional customs and rituals.

For 'Ground', Yusuke YAMATANI photographed the floor of a music hall, printed out this life-size image and laid it back on the same floors before a concert began. The worn surface, stained by alcohol & sweat, is another form of photographic documentation.

In 'Shikawatari' (Deer Crossing), Chieko SHIRAISHI focuses a herd of deer. The shy animals roam through the snowy landscape of wintry Dōtō (Eastern Hokkaido), across frozen lakes and sparse forests. Both keep distance from another, and watching each other

In out-of-print photo book 'Illuminance', Rinko KAWAUCHI continues her investigation of the particular in the everyday, magically drawn to the fundamental cycles of life and the seemingly unintentional, fractal-like order of nature in formal structures.
