Background information
The self-published photo volume 'Discordia' is Moises SAMAN's personal examination of the Arab Spring. The MAGNUM photographer, born in 1974, was in Syria, Libya and Egypt at the time.
Content
The great photographs of the self-published volume 'Discordia' by Moises SAMAN gain additional dynamics through the collages of the Dutch-Iranian artist Daria Birang. Folding pages create further cross-references. This makes the intrinsically photojournalistic work an interesting photo book project in terms of design as well.
Book Review
"Discordia shows the hopes, idealism and strength of rebellion against long-established dictatorial regimes, and also—with great clarity—the price paid for it." (Julian Stallabras)
