Infrared photography

Namie and Iitate, two cities that were exposed to extreme radioactivity after the 2011 earthquake and tsunami. Few returnees still live here. Thermal technology is used as a photographic medium to depict the landscapes in a surreal and inverted manner.

The out-of-print photo volume 'Incoming' by Richard MOSSE deals with migration. It captures the haunting nature of the same-named film, combining stills from the entire sequence to present the harsh and compelling narrative in a complete fade-out layout.
