Background information
"For several years, British landscape and architectural photographer Michael KENNA repeatedly photographed the famous industrial complex designed by architect Albert Kahn in Michigan. Built between 1917 and 1928 in Dearborn near Detroit, the Ford River Rouge industrial complex was the largest factory in the world. The outstanding, minimalist and very poetic black and white images are impressive, capturing the smoky atmosphere in dramatic shapes and high-contrast silhouettes." Content
Michael KENNA published 'The Rouge', a book on the Ford Rouge complex, back in 1995. In this book of photographs on the same subject - the industrial complex built in Michigan, USA, in the early 20th century - published in 2016, all the black-and-white images are masterfully reproduced and superbly printed. Nothing stands in the way of a benevolently aesthetic view of the old industrial plant.About British photographer, Michael KENNA (b.1953)
