He struggled through ice storms and woke more than once on an ice floe floating out to sea; Icelandic photographer Ragnar AXELSSON risked his life to travel to the most remote Inuit settlements in Greenland for 25 years. There he observed the people, their everyday life and the hunts they undertake in the winter months when the temperature is below 40 degrees Celsius for whales, seals and seals.

Black and white photographs document the every day of the hunters. The glistening light and the unusual angles of his photography show the faces marked by the struggle for life in expressive power. The primitive life in simple huts and the brutal reality of the fight between humans and animals reveal extreme existential situations in front of a colossal landscape backdrop.
