Klettenberg and Sülz are two neighboring districts of the city of Cologne. The photographer Eusebius WIRDEIER lives here and has been dealing with the history of the districts ('Veedel') for a long time. Over the years he has collected photographs from Sülz and Klettenberg and researched the stories behind the pictures.Content
"The extensive photo volume 'Fotogeschichten Sülz und Klettenberg 1855-1985' is a lovingly produced illustrated book. A family photo in the garden of the Ägidiusstraße around 1910, the Berrenrather Straße in the 1960s, disappeared workshops and stores of the 1980s and many more motifs are gathered in this illustrated book. More than 200 photos, published for the first time, show the popular districts in the period from 1890 to 1980 as well as the people who lived (or worked) here. The volume also contains readable texts and knowledgeable commentaries by the author on the photographs. The totality makes this book a valuable piece of 'Veedelsgeschichte'."
