Architecture photography

In his book 'Köln. Das Gesicht einer Stadt' (Cologne. The Face of a City), Jo FOBER expressively portrays and documents the metropolis on the Rhine and the development of its architecture. In this way, he skillfully presents a new perspective on the city.

The book 'American Winter' by Gerry JOHANSSON shows half-empty cities across the U.S., with as much beauty as misery in snow-covered landscapes: a lonely church floating in a dappled sea of white, or bare trees lining endless highways tending to nothing.

The photo book 'Cinemas' brings together for the first time a film of cinemas that were newly created by Hugo SCHMÖLZ and his son Karl Hugo SCHMÖLZ between 1935 and 1957, especially in the Rhineland and the Ruhr area.

Out-of-print photo book 'Amerikabilder by Gerry JOHANSSON' contains photographs from 1962 and 1963. His black-and-white shots of New York and Chicago breathe the aura of famous American photographers such as Robert FRANK, Lee FRIEDLANDER and Walker EVANS.

The large-format photographs in the photo volume 'Ortszeit / Local Time. Fotografien 1990-2004' by Stefan KOPPELKAMM allow a detailed reading of all the traces of time: the dramatic social and economic changes after German reunification become visible.

In addition to works selected by Eva BESNYÖ herself, the out-of-print volume contains previously never shown works with motifs from Budapest, Berlin, Brussels, Paris, Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Milan with attention to light, shadow, cropping and line play.
