Background information
"With the retrospective photo catalog 'Chris KILLIP - Arbeit / Work. Photographs from 1969-2005', the Museum Folkwang presented the work of a European photographer who has given essential impulses to a younger generation of documentary photographers. Commissioned by the museum itself, his long-term projects were about people - primarily in northern England - in their social interweaving, the architecture, landscape and infrastructure that shape their living and working conditions. The catalog volume 'Arbeit / Work' accompanied this exhibition.
